Description

Breasts are never entirely symmetrical and uneven breasts (between the right and left side) are very common.

But significant asymmetry brings many difficulties to a woman.

Breasts are also changing their shape during adolescence, pregnancy, breastfeeding, hormonal changes and aging.

Breast asymmetry correction

Facts

  • General anesthesia
  • Outpatient procedure/One-day surgery
  • Procedure lasts 2-3 hours
  • Recovery in 2 weeks

There are congenital breast asymmetries - the most common is the Poland's syndrome in which the mammary gland does not develop at all. The syndrome is usually unilateral.

In the case of excessively large breasts (breast hypertrophy) one breast may be significantly larger than the other.

Each of these procedures is unique in itself and sometimes it is necessary to combine the procedures -for example lifting the breasts (mastopexy) together with breast augmentation using breast implants.

The right type of surgery, as well as their combination, is always the result of consultation and agreement between the patient and the plastic surgeon.
